now it's break. so exams were last week. i didn't study except during the day. chemistry was easy, history was long, math was a 72, english required many inferences, and spanish secured my dislike of ana maria matute. then i bought film and haven't done much since.

r.i.p. Reid. I know you were there last night, somewhere in that big room, and I hope we got the modulation in "Maria" right.

so on saturday we went into new york city and went to the met. it got really crowded and my feet were sore at the end but it was fun. our tour guide was completely ridiculous and sounded like a matthew-lesko-meets-auctioneer. we had dinner in the cafeteria and an italian couple sat next to us that didn't speak a word of english i don't think. we then drove around midtown for a little while and walked around until father got afraid we were going to get towed and then we ran back to our car and drove home.
today was largely spent sleeping until two o'clock then reading about 75 pages of heart of darkness, which i wish was maybe, just maybe, a bit less dense.
the horror the horror

huh
on wednesday mr. chiarappa fumbled his baton and knocked into a music stand.
last saturday after the chorus rehearsal in the morning shannon and i went to the pickin patch in simsbury where we walked around and picked out some pretty awesome pumpkins and laughed at her friend who had a 16th birthday party at his grandmother's house and mark rosato
then on sunday was the chorus performance. blehhhh....no, actually it was halfway decent i guess. the pianist was amazing even though rhapsody in blue went on for like 40 minutes. a lot of the sopranos belted uncomfortably but overall i'd say we sounded pretty good considering the songs and fact that few of us could take pop chiarappppppp seriously.
monday and tuesday were pretty bland. i do not want to write my english paper. ms. rushford and i had an argument about white balancing. i brought in my slinky on monday for my spanish project, which went well, and it was pretty cool
phantom of the megaplexxx
word of advice: do NOT look at this month's issue of the west hartford magazing unless you are comfortable with cartoons of mr. chiarappa.

so news day yesterday was really fun, probably the best news day that we'll have in a long time. we sang along to israel kamakamiwo'ole in the car, caroline confessed her secret infatuation with the lizzie mcguire movie, laura and i laughed at ridiculous greeting cards (ordination? retirement? your baby girl) in cvs. everybody made fun of ben levison and his music put me to sleep? if you see a lockdown graphic in friday's newspaper I designed it. bam!
today mother brought home pie from a meeting with blueberries
i haven't gotten a pumpkin yet. so i should before all the good ones are gone. and there might be a way to go to brazil.

Polobians glory glory glorygloryglory glory glory glory glory to all glorygloryglory gloryyyy...???
apparently "procession of the nobles" is the most famous song from Mlada, an 1890s opera by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
so yesterday was the LOCKDOWN. unfortunately some guy had stolen a car, crashed it, killed an innocent person and ran across our campus...? Hannah and I were doing a chemistry lab and after we were done with the green flames and spilling molten liquid on the floor everyone climbed up on the counter to see the helicopter take off and land at least three times. And Mr. Sullivan just sort of stood by the door the entire time.
then today mike whalen had a pet hawk that landed on the ledge of the fire escape in the first house, alex mckeown proclaimed the meaning of life, everyone laughed more at procession of the nobles, we are making pots in spanish class, apparently i'm vegan, the AHN TRIO is coming tomorrow, I scared uma accidentally and now I should be doing homework because lost starts in less than 4 hours.

So we're off to the side a little bit, but the universe is about 5,099,342,239,768,082,042,880,000,000 inches across. And the other day we measured me on the alligator height scale in the basement and I was 5' 7 1/2", or 67.5 inches. Last year at my checkup my doctor told me I was in the 75th percentile for height. I guess the universe would be really good at basketball.

sushi is good, the scavenger hunt isn't really. we really wanted the fish so i drew one on a sticky note and wore it. unfortunately it looked kind of like a jesus fish so now i'm afraid everybody thinks i'm some sort of evangelical christian.
also, happy birthday john cage, and r.i.p. mr. erwin, even though you're nuts.

maybe people should come with a category system, like the fujita scale for tornadoes, so you know when you're going to be sucked up into the sky and thrown back in the middle of the desert
did you know there's a town called carefree, arizona?
hahahaha ironic? maybe everyone should move there.
maybemaybemaybemaybe.
p.s. damn, our hot water heater is broken.

So I'm back from CANADA!! Québec City, specifically.
There were lots of fleurs de lis and maple leaves and I sadly couldn't understand any of the French.
I lost my glasses on a path from the Chateau Frontenac to the Citadel and was stuck wearing my sunglasses the entire time.
The food was good I guess and it's really hilly so you have to walk up and down a lot and you get kind of dizzy. It was cloudy most of the time and in the evening the sky sort of looked like syrup. It was quaint though and the logo of their defunct hockey team is cool.
So tomorrow hopefully I get new glasses again and also go to get my books.

So on Wednesday I went to an SAF reunion. It was lots of fun hahaha, we all got addicted to peanut butter M&Ms and it was nice to see everybody again. I left the camera there but got it back on Thursday.
Talked to lots of people on Friday, awehpguaehfw.
The tire on my bike bulged.
I'll be in Québec City until Thursday, hoping for lots of fleurs-de-lis, later.

So I was at Wal-Mart last night and came across a CD called Southern Redneck Party and thought of your mother's boyfriend, Emily. My dad wanted to buy some truck drivin' music because apparently it's his "hidden pleasure" but thankfully the CD was too expensive.
I leave for Quebec on Sunday. I've heard it's nice.

2 days, and I've done about a third of my summer reading.

So on thursday it finally rained after the longest time! It felt good on my skin and I went outside and talked with Julie on the phone. And then a few minutes later it stopped raining, everything dried up quickly, and it was like it never happened.
and then on friday shannon came over! we laughed at her grade when they were 8th graders and watched a movie and talked I guess until she left,
and then on sunday we went to go see cyrano de bergerac in guilford which was nice, though afterwards I suspected food poisoning
accidental of course
why does rain dry so quickly? scientifically I know the answer but puddles must be shy
hmm.

I wish all the roads in Connecticut were long stretches of perfect straightness, like in the southwest or something, because that way when you're driving you feel like you're getting somewhere.
It's a nice day.
Damnnnnnn i'm bored. I tried running yesterday but practically had a heart attack after running up and down the street because I'm so out of shape. haha That's kind of pitiful for someone who's going to probably do cross country in the fall, no?
And what did they do to deviantart?
